it's another weekend... which means another spare time, and every chance of spare time there are bunch of craft-thingy poppin' inside my head. sounded exaggerated, but actually i'm not. sometimes this playful and (well i don't know if this is the right word) creative feeling just dictated my mind.

this time, sewing would be the most exciting for me. i already took mom's old sewing machine to the machine reparation shop in ABC street few months ago, and it's now all brand new. it has a new ring and other spare parts inside its body. but!! there's still one problem... the pedal's gone, which means i still can't sew.

well actually there are lots of things to do, not only sewing. but i have to tell this; i haven't got my own wallet and agenda for months because of the lost of that sewing machine pedal. why, because i just can't wait to sew myself a wallet and also a new agenda cover. and to get that pedal, i still have to wait for few weeks. sigh... that's a long time. really wish there were sewing machine rental here, somewhere in bandung. hehe. message me when you know one. ;p

that's it about sewing, i'm still going to wait for that pedal patiently. :))

anyway it's really fun to read people's blog entries about craft or just to walking around from blog to blog to see people's beautiful artworks. seeing those artworks always boost me somehow, to do that craft-thingy - thing that i always adore - again. so amazed that there are lots of people around who have talents in art, and practically they're not artists. apparently one can become a great artist. i remember one line said by a restaurant critic Anton Ego from Disney movie 'Ratatouille'; "not everyone can become a great artist, but a great artist can come from anywhere".

kinda ridiculous to write about things which aren't really important. hehe. i guess i have to stop making an excuse everytime i write about things-that-are-not-important here in this blog. who would care anyway? ;)

Crafting: Fingerless Gloves

project berikutnya, dengan level very-easy-to-knit, adalah sepasang sarung tangan tanpa jari (fingerless gloves). emang nggak gitu penting sih make ini di daerah tropis... tapi kalo cuaca lagi dingin, boleh juga dipake.

benangnya kali ini cukup empuk (enak kalo dijadiin bantal). dan yummy ^^ huhu. love the color: ungu muda banget dan kuning pastel muda banget. kayak warna2 barang rajutan buat bayi ya?

nggak rapih! hehe. satu sarung tangan terbuat dari selembar rajutan (panjangnya disesuaikan), yang kalo udah selesai dirajut, tepi kanan dan kirinya dijahit. tapi nggak semuanya dijahit, karna harus disisain sedikit buat masukin jempol. sebenernya ngerjain project ini bisa cepet banget, tapi karna males2an (hehe)... jadi lama deh beresnya.

Crafting: The First Lacy Scarf!

pin/jarumnya baru aja dicabut... dan ternyata nggak terlalu berhasil. hehe. syalnya masih curly/menggulung. tapi emang nggak keriting2 amat ngegulungnya, biasa aja. setidaknya nggak seheboh pas sebelum di-block.

hehehe. ya udah, anggap aja beres. pengalaman 'lacy' pertama yang menyenangkan. mau mulai project yang lain nih... i love this new set of color.

Crafting: Blocking, Finally

akhirnya project 'lace' yang pertama kali ini selesai juga! finally! ^^ selesai sih, tapi efeknya jadi curly/keriting/melingkar di sepanjang sisi kiri dan kanannya. lubang2 lace-nya juga nggak gitu keliatan. buat mengatasi masalah2 tadi, akhirnya saya berusaha nyobain teknik blocking. setelah baca2 dari internet dan nanya sana-sini, saya mulai mraktekin teknik ini. langkah2 yang saya beberin di sini nggak terlalu mendetail. sebenernya saya bingung juga langkah pertamanya harus gimana, jadi saya cobain aja langkah2 dari beberapa referensi di internet, membasahi di hasil rajutan yang akan di-block. akhirnya saya rendam rajutannya di air. hehehe. abis itu diperas pake handuk, dan dibentangin di atas sesuatu yang empuk. ditata, terus dipasangin pin/jarum di pinggir2 bagian yang menggulung/curly tadi. tapi pin yang saya pake cuma dikit, karna emang cuma punya 20 biji. pin dipasang sambil diukur jaraknya pake penggaris, dan ditata sesuai keinginan sampe semuanya lurus. setelah semua langkah dikerjain, barulah menunggu sekitar 2-3 hari, ataw sampe hasil rajutannya tadi mengering. dan sekarang saya masih dalam tahap menunggu rajutan sampe kering. baru itu aja yang saya lakukan kemaren... hehe.

ini untuk pertama kalinya saya nyobain teknik blocking. takutnya nggak berhasil. doakan saja, hehehe.

Crafting: Lacy Pattern

i'm currently doing my lacy project...

entah sejak kapan saya mulai suka tipe rajutan 'lacy', ataw yang keliatan bolong2. terlihat adem dan jadul. hehe. lace ataw 'renda' ini bisa bikin sesuatu terlihat klasik dan elegan.

bagian pinggir (kanan/kiri) syal ini jadi melingkar (agak2 mirip efek kalo merajut stockinette stitch) ataw curly. akhirnya nanya ke sini, dan dapet solusi supaya hasilnya jadi datar/flat, nggak curly kayak sebelumnya. ternyata pake teknik blocking. belum ngerti2 amat sih sama teknik ini, masih belum dicobain juga (syalnya aja belum kelar). ntar bakal saya posting di sini kalo udah dipraktekin. hehe.

this is my first time doing lacy-things, jadi kalo banyak salah dan awut2an... tolong dimaklumi. hehe. sejauh ini baru nyampe sekitar 50% (abis kebanyakan ditunda dan kadang2 males). a half way to go! =)
